ABB Grain Awards Supply Chain Network Optimisation Contract to SolveIT Software

Adelaide, South Australia 20 May, 2008

SolveIT Software Pty Ltd, a leading provider of enterprise software solutions for supply & demand optimisation and predictive modelling, announced today that it has signed a contract with ABB Grain for the delivery of a software system for optimising transportation logistics of its grain shipments. Under the terms of the agreement, SolveIT Software will use its proprietary optimisation platform to develop a Grain Transportation Logistics Optimiser as a sub-component of an overall Supply Chain Network Optimiser.

SolveIT Software Extends Currency Hedging System to Euro and Yen

ETSA Utilities Awards Predictive Modelling Contract to SolveIT Software

SolveIT Software Pty Ltd, a leading provider of software solutions for planning and scheduling optimisation and predictive modelling, announced today that it has signed a contract with ETSA Utilities for the delivery of a predictive software system for network reliability.

Serving 782,000 customers, ETSA Utilities supports a network comprising 377 zone substations and about 85,000 kilometres of power lines valued at approximately $2.5 billion. Employing more than 1,600 people, ETSA Utilities is the fifth largest distributor in the Australian National Electricity Market.

Business Angels FIll the Gap

A funding gap at the very important phase of business startup is holding SA innovation back and the Venture Capital Board is hoping for divine intervention to plug it.

While programs such as VCB's Equity Ready can help ventures take off commercially, how they get funded from there - to the point where a major investor will take interest - is too often an open question. 'Business Angels' can fill the gap - if there are enough available and the startup is properly packaged. The VCB hosted a session recently to update the business community on business angel activity with presentations from three local angel investors.
